Since when was £200,000 just about £10,000? As usual you haven’t got a clue have you BS?
Why should it bother anybody Heathy, it was private money gifted to pay for refurbishment.
He has to declare gifts, BS. There has to be transparency, otherwise there can be a suspicion that someone who gives him money could be doing so because it’s a bribe, and/or they expect a favour in return, such as an intervention here, a non-intervention there, speaking about this in the House, asking about that in the House, facilitating a contract, stopping others doing something, bestowing honours, all kinds of stuff.
And public attention on this won’t go away, because he hasn’t wanted to declare the original source of the money, which suggests summat’s up.
His phone number has been on the web for ages, too. Not that he’d personally answer calls of course, but anyone from Arcuri to emir of Afghanistan could leave a message or text, and if it was of interest, they’d possibly have direct access to the British PM.
No wonder the country has become such a joke overseas. British diplomats are no longer able to take the high ground when lecturing the banana republics about democracy and accountability. Under the Tories the country has gone from being a beacon to the world to a vacuum of moral integrity.
