Who is my bunch? I have no allegiances as such. I am more pro-Labour than other parties, but I didn’t vote for them in 2019 and may not again (at the moment I am most likely to, but I am not going to easily totally regain trust after they soiled their reputation with the last moron) and I will gladly disagree with anyone when I see fit to argue against a point.
Labour will critique, of course. The same would be true if roles were reversed. That’s the nature of politics. Yet you wouldn’t be making the same points against the Tories in that situation, I believe.
The problem with the charge of hypocrisy is that it negates the point that regardless of double standards it doesn’t make the charge being aimed at the Tories (in this case) any less problematic. And the problem is that, if these accusations are true, they would go against regulations, so dismissing them as nothing to worry about regardless would be apologising for improper use of funds.
