I’d hope the benefits of leaving the EU last longer than the pandemic. The promises related to a greater economy and greater standards of living, along with less bureaucracy and for some immigration. The trade stats don’t look good, so the issues could be longer term.
Of course the bad handling of the vaccine rollout by the EU will give some confidence that we’re good to be out, and their bad handling has to make me concede I was wrong in thinking EU nations were doing well in their handling of the pandemic last year, but the question over whether being out is good should come from the experiences we get from more normal times.
