Good bump, as I’ve changed my mind considerably in the seven months since I started this thread.
I can actually see a lot of benefits in cashless transactions, having spent a year with the same few notes gathering dust in my wallet.
Recording transactions via card or phone is no more sinister than when you used an ATM to draw cash, or even when you signed and dated a personal cheque.
In fact I rarely use my debit card now. I almost entirely use ApplePay, and I pay for my match-passes by PayPal.
You still have to keep your wits about you regarding scams (via phone or email) but I’m a lot more relaxed about it than I was in September.
As for BPG’s Marxist conspiracy theory nonsense – I give it the same amount of credulity as I do his religious blather as I reckon both are wind-ups.
You don’t need to look left before crossing the totalitarian road!
