Yeah, I am trying to take things less to heart now and not get embroiled in it.
I can’t tell if he’s for or against. I don’t mind people arguing that we shouldn’t lockdown if they take personal responsibility for acknowledging that more deaths is an acceptable outcome and the risk of an overwhelmed NHS is worth it. Things like an improved economy, lower rates of domestic violence and improved mental health is a good of no lockdown, but I don’t see how you can have that without the negatives of a pandemic at the moment. Unfortunately, many lockdown ‘sceptics’ don’t see it as such and think we can have the best of both worlds.
There is no panacea here. There is only misery, and lockdown is miserable. I just don’t see a viable alternative at present.
