Those are the same demands expected of any third party state, not just the UK. Why is it the EU’s fault that we have to abide by third party rules, like any other state not part of the EU or Single Market? It’s hardly ‘punishing’ the UK to treat us like any other nation in the same position and not offer special dispensation.
This just goes back to what I’ve said for years. Brexiters promised we could have equal parity to member nations outside, the EU wasn’t going to allow that to not undermine the Single Market or EU (since we’re out of both). The talk of EU punishing us is just noise and scapegoating for things not being as promised.
I would be more inclined to listen about great benefits for business in the UK if it wasn’t for our own government advising firms to move to the EU to avoid such red tape.
