‘Our grandchildren will still be paying for this when we’re all pushing up daisies.’
They will if the Tories are in power yes. There’s absolutely no reason that a lot of the emergency Covid spending couldn’t be paid for by QE. In fact, some older Tories have admitted as much. I’ll dig out some articles that cover this in more detail and post them on a new thread so you and others can examine them Bucks.
If the majority of people in this country actually realised how much austerity is a political not financially necessary strategy they’d be marching on no,10.
‘In the area where I now live the local communities are doing an amazing job supporting those who need it, from the elderly to the poor. Meanwhile the council’s more concerned with creating cycle ways that nobody uses but are very good at creating traffic jams, with cars idling and emergency vehicles unable to get through’.
This attack on your local authority is nothing short of disgraceful Bucks, because I’m pretty sure you must know how much all councils are doing regarding emergency Covid measures. It’s great that local communities up and down the country are helping out because my goodness there isn’t enough additional funding being provided by Johnson and his circus to meet the additional needs brought on by Covid. If your council suddenly stopped addressing these needs you’d be noticing more than a few traffic jams and additional cycle lanes.
Your conceit knows no bounds!
