Apologies. I herewith retract the petulant ‘knickers’ comment.
No worries Deerey. In fact I had a good laugh as your post appeared below an advert for women’s lingerie!
I also know one Inspector friend who inspected a teacher friend of mine and pretty much ruined his life.
I can double you up on that one. The guy who was my best man had his life destroyed by Ofsted. As did an ex teaching colleague. Both suffered breakdowns.
In fact in 1993 I myself was headhunted by an ex headteacher I had worked with in the 80s who was in charge of recruiting Ofsted inspectors. I went along to the first couple of meetings but soon realised it wasn’t for me, so never took it any further.
A decade later when I was teaching in adult education at Newcastle College I came across Ofsted inspectors who had never ever been teachers. I was once inspected by a guy who had previously been a painter & decorator!
However, as BRI points out it is a thankless task, although like many other government initiatives, it was never thought out or implemented properly.
Very disappointed in BPG’s sermon, which had no relevance to my OP. But I guess the Bible is like Forest Gump’s box of chocolates. You stick your hand in and are never sure what you’re going to get!
