It won’t be the death knell, as I’m sure you’d agree. Not with a Tory government seemingly more hell bent on destroying the public sector than Thatcher, despite the disastrous track record of privatisation. It will be interesting to see what settlements local authorities get from Sunak. Not seen any figures published yet but no doubt it will be another opportunity to diminish the country’s Council’s ability to provide adequate provisions and services to residents, conveniently leaving the door open for private firms like Deloitte to step in and make a complete hash.
