You’ve been promising that the EU will fall apart and countries will be wanting to tear themselves apart for the last few years now. I am sure this time it’s different and for once you’ll admit to being wrong when nothing drastic changes and we won’t see countries pulling themselves away, as is likely.
North Macedonia is looking to be the next member state, despite the pandemic, so I don’t think the EU is collapsing any time soon.
As for ostriches with the heads in the sand, when are those car manufacturers coming to the rescue, Bucks? Speaking of economic disaster, the government’s own impact assessments forecast gloom, but I am sure this vote Leave government are just scaremongering to get us to stay part of the EU, like it has always been claimed in the past. It cannot be that Brexit is economically harmful*. The irony of you talking about EU and bureaucracy when the government have admitted that trade with the EU will require far much more of that now. I thought that was project fear, as you had promised. D’oh!
*I don’t take anyone seriously when they rail against pandemic measures for economic reasons if they can’t take Brexit seriously. It just shows they’re nothing but ideologues.
It might help you in debating, Bucks, if you don’t speak to others like a 1960s schoolteacher out to lecture the kids. It might help if you take a step back and try to remove the ideological fog around your lenses and stop treating any argument against you as inherently duplicitous. Maybe then it would be more productive, rather than tiring talk with a right wing Owen Jones; blinkered, pompous and never willing to take responsibility for the views espoused.
