Mars, Enceladus and Europa have all grabbed the attention of those looking for life. It would be quite something if Venus, the least likely of all rock based planets and satellites beats them to the discovery. Though we have some way until any kind of confirmation is reached. This will create more research (no doubt it’s all a money grabbing con by the astronomers according to the conspiracy theorists) and it will need to be verified and cross tested before we have anything solid.
Earth is unlikely to have the same runaway greenhouse effect which has led to Venus having extremely high temperatures (the temperatures are higher than Mercury, which goes to show the impact the greenhouse effect can have). Venus’s oceans evaporated and led to a runaway greenhouse effect which completely destabilised its climatic balance. In the worst case scenarios that is not even close to a likely outcome for Earth in any climatic trend.
