I think the universities are shit scared of this Government (Cummings) as there is no telling what they will do.
They have had it easy for a few years, guaranteed 9k per year per UK student and up to 50-60k per foreign student. This has allowed them to invest heavily in new over priced student accommodation all backed by a ridiculous student loan Ponzi scheme.
No algorithm can predict how hard a student will study and perform in an exam or how many students will flunk their exams. Outcome is that students are being judged by their post code and the average performance of how students performed over the previous 3 years. They won’t want to take on the Government.
Using mock results for appeals are an obvious mockery. A large proportion of students would not have revised for them and could not have predicted a global pandemic – it took Johnson until April to grasp what was going on after getting a dose of it.
She is not happy and will appeal, but has taken what’s on offer as so many will have to do. Clearly the Government has decided to battle through this shambles rather than lose face to give a bit of slack to a bright 18 year old with a keen interest in bioscience!!
Please throw an egg at any Tory who dares to again use the catchphrase “levelling up “!!
The fact that the patronising pillock Johnson called the review of results as “robust” proves there is a problem. Surely it was “world beating”!!
