I think that’s because the public desire for redistribution is now felt more acutely in the US than it was when Obama ran. I’ve no doubt Obama would have wanted a more radical distribution of wealth, but probably felt he couldn’t get the electorate to buy into it.
Agree with IA above. And, if Facebook stops Trump from tweeting until he takes down the lies, it may well prove a force for good in politics.
And once Trump falls, I suspect the Johnson and the far right in Britain will be feeling more heat too.
