I’d have been unhappy with someone who is embroiled in anti-Semitism leading the country. I cannot say whether his government would definitely have been as bad as Johnson’s, but given how useless he was in opposition I have no belief that he’d be better.
Like I say, Labour should have realised the magnanimity of the election long before, but they persisted with an incompetent and immoral figure from the fringe of the party because they could use him as a blank slate to portray their views of a champion for social justice. He was never going to be popular with the electorate, so when considering us having to endure yet more years of Tory rule following the hardships from the past ten years they should have prioritised the quality of the leader a lot more.
Fortunately Labour has someone in now who is restoring the image of the party after years of mismanagement and damage.
