Fleetwood’s Eastham has red card rescinded

Fleetwood Town defender Ashley Eastham has successfully has his red card overturned from last Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Scunthorpe.

Eastham was sent off by referee Mark Heywood, who had wrongly deemed the Fleetwood defender to have denied a goalscoring opportunity when he blocked an Ivan Toney header with his arm.

In a statement, The FA said: “An Independent Regulatory Commission agreed he did not deny an obvious goal scoring opportunity and, therefore, the player will not serve any suspension.”
