Collins makes Wimbledon move

Club captain Michael Collins has joined Wimbledon on loan until the end of the season.

Collins has found opportunities limited since returning from injury and United boss Russ Wilcox has opted to loan him out to get the Iron skipper some game time.

The Dons face the Iron’s rivals Fleetwood, Chesterfield, Burton and Newport in the next month and Collins is expected to go straight into the squad that faces Bury on Saturday.

He becomes Wimbledon’s second signing of the week joining former Spurs youngster Jake Nicholson, who put pen to paper on a short term deal yesterday.

Scunthorpe have a recall clause that becomes active after 28 days.
