Blades ace issues apology to fans

Shefftield United midfielder Jose Baxter has issued an apology to Blades fans following last nights 1-0 loss to Bury, insisting it is not good enough and the players are letting them down too often.

United, who sit 5 points off a play off place, were expected to be featuring at the top of the table when Nigel Adkins took over in the summer, but things have not gone to plan and the former Scunthorpe and Southampton manager is finding himself under increasing pressure at Bramall Lane.

Baxter, who has been one of the teams better players despite his off field problems, admitted to Radio Sheffield:

“We can only say sorry to the fans, it was a bad performance. I think we are letting them down a bit too much at the moment”

These are the games that we have got to go and win to get up the table where we should be. It’s very hurtful to get beat. I’m not really sure what was missing, because we started the game well. They say goals change games and it did.

“Once the goal went in we were chasing the game but there’s no excuses. It was a poor performance from us.”

A first half goal from Craig Jones was enough for Bury to see off the Blades, who after losing 6-0 at the weekend, were expected to provide little trouble for the Blades.
