Craig Jones’ Bury return imminent

Bury midfielder Craig Jones is ready to get back on the pitch again after suffering concussion when challenging for the ball during the FA Cup tie against Bradford City.

Manager David Flitcroft told the club’s official website: “You’ve got a club player there that has landed very awkwardly on his neck, and when you see the club doctor on any pitch now, after incidences we’ve seen over the past couple of years, you do get worried.

“Myself and the players were concerned, but Craig is stable. We got him to hospital really quick, I spoke to him the day after and he’s settled, but just had a few headaches.

“I’m just delighted that it was nothing more sinister, because that’s sometimes what you can think in those situations.”

Jones will not be available to play on Saturday at their upcoming home game against Walsall, but will be in light training towards the end of this week.
