Williams deal likely

Scunthorpe United are likely to conclude a permanent deal for Marcus Williams as his parent club Sheffield United refused to extend his loan deal.

Williams told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: “Russ has said he wants me back, which has been great.

“The club obviously said they wanted me and wanted to extend my loan, but unfortunately Sheffield United have said they don’t want to extend my loan”.

“If I can get myself back here then it works better for everybody”.

Williams has impressed in a left midfield role since moving back to Glanford Park last month.
