Three squad members to miss Marbella trip

Iron boss Mark Robins has told the Scunthorpe Telegraph that three squad members will miss the pre season trip to Marbella- but has insisted that doesn’t mean they are definitely on their way out of the exit door Glanford Park.

Iron-Bru.com understands that defender David Mirfin is included in the squad travelling to Spain, despite rumours suggesting he may not be part of Robins’ plans this term.

The defender struggled with injury last term, but impressed on loan at Hartlepool despite not being able to train consistently.

A total of 24 players will fly out for the training camp on Sunday while the others remain at home and train with the academy.

“We have got 24 heading to Spain. All those players are in the building but there will be one or two that miss out,” Robins told the Telegraph.

“Those players will train with the academy and get work into them that way. We will consider what is what moving forward because things can change all the time.

“It is not an inevitability that those players who miss out will move on, but there is a possibility”.
