Syers and Assenso leave Iron

robins

Scunthorpe United have released Dave Syers after mutually agreeing a contract termination.

Syers has struggled with injury during his time at Glanford Park but was a fans favourite after impressing during the club’s League Two promotion campaign.

He has found chances under Mark Robins hard to come by this term and is now free to join another club this transfer window.

A statement from the Iron read: “Both parties believe this move is mutually beneficial and the club would like to place on record their thanks to Dave and wish him all the very best in the future.”

Isaac Assenso has also left United.

He joined in the summer from Leeds after a successful trial period, but has failed to break in to the first team squad.

He spent time on loan at Scarborough earlier this year.
