Swann: No offer for Van Veen

Untitled 2

Iron chairman Peter Swann has insisted the club have not and will not make an offer for Dutch striker Kevin van Veen, despite rumours linking the FC Oss man with a move to Glanford Park.

Swann told the official website: “We will undoubtedly continue to be linked with various players and I am pleased that is the case, it means we are taken seriously in our quest to move up the table, improve our quality of football on the pitch and to entertain the fans.

“I must however distance ourselves from the rumours re Kevin Van Veen, as this seems to be a ploy to raise his value.

“Kevin is a quality player we looked at last year and Mark went to see him play after interest was raised a few months ago.

“He is a good player but we did not and have not made an offer for him and have moved on to other targets, as you have seen.”
