Swann: Madden to sign new deal

BBC Radio Humberside are reporting that Iron striker Paddy Madden will sign a new deal at the club by the end of the week.

Iron Chairman Peter Swann confirmed the club were close to tying the Irishman down to a longer contract this morning.

Rumours on Twitter had suggested that Barnsley were readying a bid for the Iron striker, but Iron-Bru.com understand that is not the case.

Swann also confirmed that David Mirfin, Dave Syers, Terry Hawkridge and Sean McAllister are free to leave Glanford Park, either on loan or on permanent deals.
