Stevenage would love to keep King

Stevenage boss Darren Sarll has admitted the deal to extend Jack King’s loan from Scunthorpe United is “taking a bit of time”.

King has returned to Glanford Park following the expiry of his previous loan deal but Sarll is keen to keep him at Broadhall Way.

Sarll said: “We are talking to Jack. Things are taking a bit of time.

“Jack’s very open in his dialogue with myself and we are talking to his representative.

“We would love Jack King at the football club. It’s whether we can all meet in the middle and make sure everything is right for everyone and ensure Jack gets the best possible deal.

“I just want the best possible players and people and Jack certainly falls into that category”
