Scunthorpe United have reportedly bid a figure of £200k for Sheffield United striker Jame Hanson.

According to journalist James Shield of The Star, the Sheffield news outlet, the Iron have tabled the bid a day before the close of the transfer window.

Graham Alexander’s interest in Hanson was well publicised earlier this month, but he has now been thought to have tabled a concrete bid, in an attempt to lure the giant striker to Glanford Park before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

Any deal is thought to rest on the availability of the Blades’ other strikers, in a department they currently have one or two injury worries in.

Hanson, aged 29, has scored only one goal in 34 appearances since arriving at Bramall Lane in January. He is thought by Alexander to be the ideal striker partner for Iron’s Paddy Madden.
