Russ fears postponement

Iron boss Russ Wilcox fears Friday night’s game at Accrington will fall foul of the weather.

Stanley have played just once at home in 2014 and with bad weather continuing to sweep the country, the game is likely to be in doubt.

“We played our reserve at Accrington there when I was at Burnley and I’ll be honest, back then, the pitch was awful. They had problems with the drainage,” said the United manager.

“Hopefully things have improved over the past couple of years, but I’m worried about Friday.

“But you know that from this period in, a lot of League Two pitches are going to be difficult to play on. Sometimes it’s about adopting your style a little bit as well. You need to find different ways to win a football match”.
