Robins closes door on Osbourne return

Mark Robins has confirmed to BBC Radio Humberside that midfielder Isaiah Osbourne will not be re-joining Scunthorpe United.

Osbourne made 27 appearances for the club last season, but wanted to explore his options over the summer when his short term deal expired.

Robins said Osbourne had expressed an interest in returning to Glanford Park, but admitted things have ‘moved on’.

“He was a good player for us last season but we have signed quite a few players. We spoke about it at the end of last season and he wanted to remain a little closer to Birmingham and Scunthorpe has not moved closer as far as I am aware.

“At the end of last season Isaiah wanted to explore his options and although he would have liked to come back things have moved on.

“He did do well for us but he needs to find something for himself but it won’t be with us at this stage.

“There is not really any chance of him coming back because of the work we’ve done.”
