A number of Scunthorpe United supporters were put back on the train before the Iron’s FA Cup Second Round tie at Doncaster Rovers yesterday, for apparent breach of anti-social behaviour legislation.

They were issued with dispersal notices by South Yorkshire Police after disembarking at Doncaster station and were sent back to Scunthorpe before kick off.

A spokeswoman for the South Yorkshire force said the dispersal notices were issued for breaches of the anti-social behaviour act.

It is believed that between 30 and 35 Scunthorpe fans were involved.

The spokeswoman added: “This resulted in those individuals being excluded from the area and directed back onto the trains.”

In another incident, a Scunthorpe fan was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police constable.
