Ojo aiming for promotion with Scunthorpe

Iron midfielder and fans favourite Funso Ojo says his sights are firmly fixed on achieving promotion with Scunthorpe United this season, ahead of a busy Christmas schedule.

And the former PSV man believes that his teammates are completely focused on going one better than the play off semi final defeat last season, and hopes the club will be celebrating a return to the Sky Bet Championship next May.

“When you speak to the guys from the team they only have one goal and that is promotion,” Ojo explained.

“No matter how we get promotion, we have to get it. The easiest way to get it is get three points every time and win all our games.”

Ojo added that recent wins over Bradford City and Charlton Athletic, which saw the Iron extend their winning run to six games, were a big statement to fellow promotion hopefuls.

“It was a big statement and looking at the table, the points we have and opponents, we are a bit closer to the top two and making a small gap to the teams beneath us”.
