Mantom to have scan on groin injury

Medium

Scunthorpe midfielder Sam Mantom has seen a specialist over his groin injury and will have another scan today to determine the severity of the problem.

The midfielder, who has struggled with injury since arriving from Walsall last summer, reported soreness in the groin area following the 2-0 defeat at Rotherham last weekend.

Iron boss Graham Alexander says medical staff at the club are hopeful Mantom’s injury isn’t too serious.

Alexander told the press: “We’re trying to explore the options with that and how severe it is.”
