Madden: We should beat Oldham

Striker Paddy Madden believes the Iron have got a great opportunity to record back to back wins ahead of their trip to Oldham on Saturday.

He scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Fleetwood last weekend and has challenged his team mates to kick on after a faltering start to the League One season.

“It was a big three points and we have to build on that for next week”, he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

“We have not got a better chance to do that next week because, although no disrespect to Oldham, with the squad we have we should be beating teams like that.

“It is very important to back up this victory because we can’t win a game and then lose two.

“We have got to show a bit more character on the pitch and start getting win after win”.
