Iron left back Scott Laird says he is hoping to extend his stint at loan club Walsall when his current stay comes to an end in January.

“I really like the club. “I’m enjoying my football and I’d like to carry on somewhere I like and that’s Walsall”, the full-back told BBC WM 95.6.

Laird has played a part in Walsall’s revival which has seen then win four of the last five games, following a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Scunthorpe at the Bescot Stadium in late September.

“I can’t hide my feelings, coming here has reignited my fire.

“I’m absolutely loving it. The fans and management and even the media have been brilliant”.
