Former Iron boss Alan Knill has taken the assistant manager role at Northampton Town to work alongside new boss Chris Wilder.
Wilder handed in his resignation at promotion chasing Oxford this weekend and has joined Northampton on a three-and-a-half-year deal. The clubs agreed a compensation package for Wilder’s departure on Sunday.
Knill joins Wilder’s backroom team after being sacked by Northampton’s relegation rivals Torquay earlier this month. It is a role reversal of the management team at Bury where Wilder worked under Knill before the appointment of Chris Brass.
