Iron sweating on Wiseman fitness

Scunthorpe boss Graham Alexander says right back Scott Wiseman will be assessed ahead of the Sunday lunchtime showdown with Coventry City at Glanford Park.

Wiseman picked up a knock towards the end of the 2-1 win over Swindon on Saturday and although he completed the game, Alexander said they would not be taking any chances on his fitness with the play offs looming.

“Wisey jarred something when he went to ground so there is a little bit of concern about that,” Alexander said.

“He got through the rest of the game but we will see how he is to see if he is ready to play.”

If Wiseman is unable to face the Sky Blues, Jordan Clarke has returned to full training following a toe injury and could be fit to step in and face his former club whilst Levi Sutton is also available to deputise if required.
