Iron send warning to Chelsea ticket touts

Scunthorpe United have issued a statement warning ticket touts that tickets sold for Sunday’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea at more than face value will be “cancelled without refund”.

The news comes after disgruntled Iron fans were shocked to see five tickets being sold for double face value on social media shortly after the club had sold their full 3,000 allocation.

The statement read: “In light of Chelsea match tickets being offered for sale, Iron fans are politely reminded that it is a criminal offence to sell tickets for more than face value.

“Fans are also strongly advised that tickets purchased from non-reputable sources could be fakes and as such are likely to lead to disappointment and loss of money.
“Any tickets bought or sold in this fashion will be cancelled without refund and The Police will be notified.”
