Iron secure Madden

The Iron have beaten Championship and League One competition to complete the signing of Paddy Madden from Championship side Yeovil on a two and a half year deal.

Madden, who was the top scorer in League One last term, was keen to leave the Championship club after a breakdown in relations with manager Gary Johnson.

Reports in Ireland on Thursday suggested the Iron had a bid of £300,000 accepted for the Dubliner, but it is expected the actual fee falls just short of that figure.
