BBC Radio Humberside are reporting that there is nobody at Scunthorpe United available for comment on reports linking the Sheffield United striker James Hanson with a move to Glanford Park.
HITC suggest that the Iron are interested in signing the 29 year old target man before the close of the summer transfer window.
Hanson, who has done little to capture the hearts of Sheffield United fans since his transfer from Bradford City this January, is down the pecking order at Bramall Lane.
Ambitious League Two outfit Mansfield have held talks with Sheffield United to see if they would consider selling the giant striker, but it has been widely reported that Hanson is not prepared to drop into League Two for regular football.
Whilst the Blades are in no rush to sell, it is likely the Yorkshire side will let him leave if they can recoup the money they paid Bradford for his services in January.
