Yeovil boss Gary Johnson has told the Western Gazette that Scunthorpe have made Coventry City full back Jordan Clarke an “offer he cannot refuse”.

Clarke, who has impressed on loan at Huish Park this season is having a medical at Glanford Park before penning a permanent deal with the Iron.

Johnson said: “Scunthorpe have come into a bit of money and decided to spend it a little bit. Of course, he was on a very good wage at Coventry. I think Scunthorpe obviously made an offer he couldn’t refuse and that’s what’s happened.

“He’s been good and I suppose we bring them in to play for us, but sometimes people see it as if they will come to us to put themselves in the shop window. If they do well you run the risk of someone coming in for them.
