Iron looking for loan reinforcements

Iron boss Mark Robins has confirmed he would like to add a couple of new faces to his squad before the loan window slams shut this afternoon.

Injuries to David Mirfin and Tom Hopper have left the squad depleted, with long term absentees Jamie Ness and Stephen Dawson still a couple of weeks away from a first team return.

Football League clubs have up until 5pm to do any business, after which they must wait until January.

“I’m not hopeful, I’m just having a look and perusing and we’ll see what follows, if anything,” Robins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph

“I’d like to do something but I’ve got to speak to chairman and see how he feels.

“We won a game on Tuesday and it might be that we don’t need to do anything so we’ll wait and see.

“I’m looking to do something in the loan market, whether it’s in a defensive position or another position. I want to get another couple of bodies in if I can.

“If I can’t, I can’t – I’ve always said I’m happy with what we’ve got.

“The chairman always wants me to do things if the right player comes along; he’s always given me his backing which is fantastic. You can’t ask for more than that.”
