Iron loan Toffolo from Norwich

The Iron have signed Norwich City left-back Harry Toffolo on loan until January.

Toffolo has enjoyed loan spells at Swindon Town, Rotherham and Peterborough prior to his arrival at Glanford Park.

He played seven times while on loan at Championship side Rotherham last season. He has also played for England at U18, U19 and U20 level.

Iron boss Graham Alexander was delighted to secure Toffolo: “He adds quality and has a lot of league experience from his loan periods elsewhere,” he said.

“I first came across him in his time on loan at Swindon where I thought he was a superb player for them. He was a massive part of their success in 2014-15, when they reached the play-off final, and nearly helped them to promotion.

“When my teams played against him, he was always a threat from left wing-back.

“He’s versatile and can play anywhere down the left hand side. He’s a young player with great motivation, great energy and real quality.”

Toffolo admitted he is ‘buzzing’ to have sealed a move to Glanford Park.

“I’m absolutely delighted to get it done. Once I heard that Scunthorpe were a team interested with the manager and the squad we’ve got here, I was eager to get here. Now I’m here, I’m buzzing.”

The 21-year-old has made three cup appearances for the Canaries and played in the 6-1 demolition of Peterborough in the EFL Trophy last night.

“The Peterborough game was really good,” he continued.

“The Norwich boys all did themselves proud. I’m here now and hopefully I can bring my confidence from that game here and start winning games with Scunthorpe.

“Hopefully I can bring that to the team. I aim to get as many assists as possible and get on the scoresheet.

“I’m a very attacking left-back and fans will see that early on from me. Defending is my number one job though.”

“I’ve been with Rotherham in the Championship experience and hopefully I can use that to help the team.

“I want to help get this team promoted. We’re more than capable of doing that with the manager and the backing of the Chairman.

“From what I’ve seen of the team so far on the Football League Show they’ve been really good so far and I can’t wait to meet up with them tomorrow”.
