Hendon insists pressure is on Iron

Leyton Orient boss Ian Hendon insists the pressure is on Scunthorpe United ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup 2nd Round replay.

A trip to Chelsea awaits the winners after the sides played out a 0-0 draw at the Matchroom Stadium earlier in the month.

“It is a prize but we’ve got to beat Scunthorpe United first and foremost”, Hendon said after Orient’s 1-1 draw with Mansfield on Saturday.

“Any celebrations will have to come after the game because we’re not there yet. It’s a great carrot to be dangled and if the players need any motivation that’s it.

“We’ll go there the underdogs, away from home and against a League One team. The pressure is on them.”

Hendon said he would be demanding more from his side at Glanford Park after a scrappy display at Field Mill.

“I expect a better Leyton Orient, to be honest,” Hendon replied when asked about the Iron’s poor showing the initial tie.

“We need to put in a better performance on Tuesday evening.”
