Fracas at Rotherham dealt with by police

Fibresand pitch at Rotherham United 2

A fracas involving Scunthorpe United fans prior to last weekend’s fixture at Rotherham was dealt with by police.

Officers attended the incident at the Corn Law Rhymer pub at about 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman could not say how many people were involved but said it was quickly brought under control.

She said: “There was minor disturbance between fans but it was quickly dispersed by attending officers.”

The match was subject to a large police operation by South Yorkshire Police. It is unclear whether any arrests were made following the incident.
