FA to investigate Millwall crowd trouble

Trouble during and after Thursday night’s Play Off semi final clash between Millwall and Scunthorpe will be investigated by the Football Association, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports understand that the incidents, which saw bottles and coins thrown from the stands and a pitch invasion on the full time whistle, will be scrutinised.

One spectator was filmed verbally abusing Scunthorpe defender David Mirfin as he walked off the field while a young Millwall fan was filmed throwing an object in the direction of referee Andrew Madley and Stephen Dawson, who was pelted with numerous objects as he lay injured in front of the home fans.

Millwall fans also clashed with the stewards and police and were photographed fighting among themselves following the 0-0 draw.
