Ex Owls coach Burbeary working with academy

Iron-Bru.com understand that ex-Sheffield Wednesday and Derby coach Nev Burbeary has been working with United’s youth academy in recent weeks.

The Iron have been seeking a replacement for professional development coach Paul Harsley, who left to join Birmingham City earlier this season.

Following seven years with Derby, Burbeary  joined the Owls in 2002 and graduated to assistant academy manager under ex Iron defender Sean McAuley.

He was appointed interim academy manager when McAuley left for Portland Timbers and maintained the role until the arrival of Dean Ramsdale, who restructured the Owls’ academy.
