Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill suggested his side had to break down “six” defenders as they beat Scunthorpe 2-0 at Ashton Gate.
He told BBC Bristol: “We started the game really brightly but they came here and they sat in, which made it very difficult for us.
“Sometimes when we went at the back four, they also had Marcus Williams and the young boy Adelakun playing deep as well, so we had to go through six.
“We don’t mind them counteracting our wing-backs with their wide players, but nobody else has come here and done that.
“To be fair they’ve had their injuries and we might do the same in that position.
Cotterill thought his side were good value for the 2-0 victory, but admitted the Iron could have been leading at the break.
“We dominated the ball in the first half and yet they had the best chance when McSheffrey hit the post”.
