Carlisle ‘rebuff Iron in scout search’

glanfordpark

Scunthorpe United are reported to have missed out on an attempt to speak to Carlisle United’s head of recruitment as they seek a replacement for Lee Turnbull.

Turnbull left his role as chief scout at Glanford Park earlier this month to take on a similar role at Sheffield United – where he will be reunited with former Iron boss Nigel Adkins and assistant Andy Crosby.

Carlisle United have rejected an approach from an unnamed League One club for their head of recruitment Lee Dykes, with the News & Star newspaper claiming the Iron are the side who were rebuffed.

They quote Carlisle spokesman Andy Hall as saying: “The club didn’t want him to leave, and, after discussions between Lee and the manager it was clear he didn’t want to leave either.”
