Bolton condemn violence at Scunthorpe game

Bolton Wanderers have condemned the violence that took place among fans on Saturday’s game at Glanford Park.

Supporters from both sides were involved in the incidents that took place after the 1-0 win over Bolton, with trouble flaring in the club car park and at the Berkeley Hotel ,with reports suggesting at least one person had to be taken to hospital.

There was also an incident at the Royal Hotel on Doncaster Road before the match.

A statement from Bolton Wanderers confirmed the club has been made aware of a number of incidents that took place both before and after the match.

The spokesman said: “People involved in incidents that have been made known to the Scunthorpe police have been given a contact number to register their complaint as this is an ongoing investigation.

“Greater Manchester Police will assist where possible but it is imperative that people involved contact Scunthorpe police in order for them to proceed with investigations and further actions.

“Bolton Wanderers Football Club condemns any violent and anti-social behaviour.”
