Betting: Scunthorpe or Bradford to Win League 1 Outright?

vanveen4x370 3209080

Sitting at the top of the table with 25 and 24 points after 12 games, Scunthorpe and Bradford are currently the class of League 1 and the bookies have pegged them both at 7/2 odds to win the league outright. As more and more games are played, of course, these odds will go down if Scunthorpe United and Bradford City continue to stay on top of the charts. With about a third of the season through, it may be the perfect time to place a league championship future on Scunthorpe, or Bradford, or both. As of the time of writing, you could place a bet on both of these top of the table teams and still make a profit if one of them wins.

Betting futures on football or any sport makes the entire season a bit more exciting as well, it’s a long term bet that you can’t lose in an afternoon–consider it an adventure like Casino Heroes, the fun of the futures bet is partly in the journey. Your team (or if you take this tip, your teams) travels through the season and with each win you get closer to your ultimate goal. It’s a delayed monetary payout (assuming the bet wins), but it’s also an extended adrenaline payout. Some people enjoy betting on races, which give the bettor a very intense, but very short rush of adrenaline. Within one to two minutes, your horse has either won or lost and the excitement is over. The game is over.

Elsewhere around League 1 outright championship future odds, Sheffield United are being offered at 5/1, and I’ve seen Bury as low as 33/1–even though Bury are currently ahead on points (with 1 game more played) and is 6th in goal differential (ahead of Sheffield). Bury may not have the recent results, they did finish 16th in League 1 last year, but it’s an ancient team that feels due for a good season. They’ve clawed their way back from League 2 in recent years and looks to continue this upward trend. Can they win League 1? Probably not, but 33/1 is interesting to consider.

Their long time bitter rivals Bolton, who have been in the higher leagues for years, are finally back in League 1 and perhaps this will help motivate Bury to play at the top of their abilities. Speaking of the Wanderers, Bolton are currently 4th in the table and offering 11 or 12/1 for an outright championship. Bolton was last seen in the Premier League in 2012, dropping down to the Championship until 2016, and are partaking in their first season in League 1 since 1993. If Bolton continue to play well, this 12/1 will quickly join the Scunthorpe/Bradford level, as bettors know and feel more comfortable with Bolton than smaller clubs. The needle will move very hastily in the case of Bolton, so if you like them I recommend getting in on that early. I’d rather back a team like Bury than Bolton though, because I like the adventure.

In any case, it should be an exciting League 1 season–have you noticed that this season so far has had an astounding number of draws? The parity in the league is exciting and makes the oddsmakers jobs very difficult, the question is which bettors will cash in on the right team? What we know for sure is that it will be an adventure, speaking of which if you are interested in the game mentioned earlier, please visit this Casino Heroes site for more information.
