Alexander feared the worst after Salisbury named Rotherham match official

1

Iron boss Graham Alexander confesses he ‘feared the worst’ after referee Graham Salisbury was named the man in the middle – for the Iron’s defeat against Rotherham this Saturday – as the gaffer fires another post-match salvo at a referee in an all too familiar scenario.

Alexander spoke to BBC Radio Humberside following the Iron’s loss on Saturday at Glanford Park, he said:

“He was here six weeks ago, with another performance like that – in which he didn’t give us a stonewall penalty, sent one of our players off and so forth against MK Dons.

“I feared the worse when I saw his name, I don’t like to do that but thought okay yeah, we can all have an off day – but he’s gone and done it again, it’s a stonewall penalty.

“That decision was disgraceful, it was a 100% penalty.

“I didn’t go in and see him last time he was here because I know they’ve got a difficult job, but we keep getting done like that. These moments in games are massive, it’s a penalty. Do they see these moments as big as us? Probably not.”
